সাধারণত ক্রীড়া বিষয়ক কোনো অনুষ্ঠানের জন্য বেছে নেয়া হয় স্টেডিয়ামকে। আর সেটা যদি হয় কোনো বিশ্ব আসর তাহলে তো কথাই নেই। তবে এবারের আইসিসি ক্রিকেট বিশ্বকাপের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে দেখা গিয়েছে উলটো চিত্র।
বাকিংহ্যাম প্যালেসের সামনে উন্মুক্ত রাস্তায় দ্য মল’এ মাত্র ১ ঘণ্টা ব্যাপী হয়েছে বিশ্বকাপের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান। ফলে দর্শকদের মনে পড়েছে ২০১১ সালের সেই স্মৃতি। ২০১১ বিশ্বকাপ আসরে স্বাগতিক ছিল ভারত, শ্রীলঙ্কা ও বাংলাদেশ। বিশ্বকাপের ওই আসরে উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান হয় বাংলাদেশেই।
বাংলাদেশের ওই উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠান পুরো ক্রিকেট বিশ্বের নজর তো কেড়েছিল বটেই সারা বিশ্বের ক্রীড়া জগতে ঠাই করে নিয়েছিল সেরা কয়েকটির মধ্যেই।
বিশ্বকাপের এমন উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানের সমালোচনা করার পাশপাশি ২০১১ সালের স্মৃতি রোমন্থন করে অনেক ক্রিকেট ভক্তই টুইট করেন।
